For the final drop of our AW22 collection, we’re introducing a brand-new style: the BBJ-03 FLIGHT JACKET. This military inspired jacket pays homage to several vintage styles, combined to create our own unique version. The obvious starting point was a vintage A-2 style flight jacket, which we’ve further developed using our BBJ base pattern and updated with details commonly found in these vintage jackets.
The outside fabric takes its inspiration from a different, yet familiar, military style. This reverse sateen is a reproduction and a nod to the fabrics used for the now classic m-65 field jacket. The blend of cotton and nylon contributes to both breathability and durability. As opposed to the classic olive-green colour (OG) we went for a black sateen fabric, giving the garment a more contemporary look. We fully lined the jacket, including the sleeves, with a comfy black sherpa fabric. When combining the m-65 reverse sateen fabric with the sherpa body, you’ll end up with a versatile jacket that really keeps you warm.
We’ve finished the jacket with a removable velcro BENZAK-branded patch. The patch is tonally stitched in black, but when removed, the loop (i.e., soft side of velcro) reveals the BENZAK logo in white text on a black background.
