Our BC-01 TAPERED CHINO and BC-03 STRAIGHT CHINO, made from a midweight Japanese reverse sateen twill, have been staples in our core collection for several seasons. As we get ready for the new AW24 season, we’ve fully restocked four out of the six available options, BUT we’ve also updated some of the details and introduce three key improvements.
CHINOS: A UTILITARIAN REBOOT
ONE-WASH FOR STABILITY
As opposed to our raw denim jeans, we prefer no drastic transformation to our chinos as the result of wear and wash. To prevent shrinkage and colour changes after the first home washing, we've pre-washed the chinos in the factory. Unlike the previous unwashed version, this update ensures the pants retain their shape and colour, and eliminates the surprise when washing a garment at home for the first time.
UPGRADED POCKET BAGS FOR LONGEVITY
We've replaced the chunky 100% cotton chambray and switched to an undyed cotton-poly herringbone twill for the pocket bags. This new lining fabric is less bulky and prevents indigo transfer that could occur with the previous version. It’s much lighter in weight adding comfort, while the cotton-poly blend enhances durability making them last longer. It’s the best of both worlds with this new herringbone twill.
JACRON REPLACING LEATHER
The leather patch has been replaced with a jacron version. Since pre-washed garments don’t fare well with leather, the jacron material is a better choice, developing character with each wash. This new patch also holds up very well after many successive home laundries. Plus, using less leather is a step toward more sustainable practices too.
These updates are now available for the BC-01 TAPERED CHINO in army green and the BC-03 STRAIGHT CHINO in all three colors: golden brown, army green, and sand. The BC-01 in golden brown and sand will be updated in a later stage as well.
