The BWJ-01 WORKER JACKET is our take on a classic worker jacket style with a hint of tailoring, and this season we offer it in a very unique denim fabric: 14 oz. ecru ‘paint roller’ selvedge.
We have dubbed this fabric the ‘paint roller’ due to its resemblance to denim painted white with a roller on the surface. This effect is achieved by combining an ecru warp with a blue-greyish weft. Since this darker weft is visible through the twill lines, it mimics the appearance of denim with paint on top that hasn’t fully penetrated the core of the denim yet. Obviously, no actual paint has been used, and this fabric is in fact one of the most sustainable fabrics in our collection. Instead of 100% conventional cotton, it uses 76% organic cotton, and 24% recycled cotton, with Candiani sourcing the recycled portion from discarded clothing, lending the weft its distinctive blue-grey hue. The buttons, however, have received a brand-new paint job. We’ve used our classic stainless-steel buttons, overdyed with white paint to stick to the ‘paint roller’ theme. The jacket is finished with selvedge details on the inside at the center back, the placket, and even at the hidden chest pocket. This latter pocket is also finished with our branded rivet from the inside, which makes the ‘BDD’ engraving visible on the outside. Lastly, this style is produced in a very limited quantity and will not be restocked due to limited availability of this special fabric.
