Previous summer season we introduced a brand-new chino fit to the collection: the BC-04 RELAXED CHINO, which is the most spacious fitting option in our chino range. This initial release came in an 8.5 oz. sateen twill fabric, in the colours aged green and bronze brown. This season we’re adding a third colour option to the lineup, aptly named desert sand.
The sateen fabric we are using for these chinos can be referred to as a USMA West Point Twill. USMA stands for United States Military Academy and this type of sateen twill was typically used in the production of clothing for students of this academy, many decades ago.
Being 8.5 oz. makes it a relatively lightweight fabric, however, it’s still very durable due to the tightly woven construction. Additionally, the fabric feels soft to the touch because it uses a fine yarn and has received a factory pre-wash.
The fit of our BC-04 can be considered a classic chino style, it has a relaxed top block and slightly tapered legs. As opposed to the modern take on construction we use for our other chino styles, the BC-04 is made following a classic methodology. This involves a lined waistband, felled outseams, and a small coin pocket next to the right-hand front pocket.
