It was the autumn of 2023 when we introduced the BWS-05 CPO OVERSHIRT to our collection, in a classic dark navy colour. From that moment, the shirt has proven to be a staple piece and has become one of our personal favourites. For that reason, we felt compelled to expand on this style, which brings us to the introduction of a brand-new colour: forest green.

JAPANESE WOOL MOSSER

This new forest green variant uses the same 14 oz. wool mosser fabric as before, which is characterised by a moss-like, fluffy construction woven as a twill. Made from 80% wool and 20% nylon, it combines warmth and comfort with strength and durability. The fabric has a super-soft touch and keeps you warm during colder days. The inside cuffs and collar are typically points that wear out more quickly, so we’ve finished them with a cotton-poly twill to improve longevity. As with most of the fabrics used for our tops, this one has also been sourced from Japan through Collect Mills.

MILITARY-ROOTED DESIGN

The shirt is based on a classic CPO style, which stands for Chief Petty Officer. Originally worn by US Navy officers in the previous century, it’s a perfect example of a military-rooted design that has become part of modern-day fashion. The style is instantly recognisable thanks to its simple yet utilitarian design. Depending on the weather, the overshirt can be worn as a regular shirt or as a jacket, and it features four pockets to keep your belongings safe. Together, these attributes make it a versatile piece and a true wardrobe staple.
