Eight months in, we’ve officially passed the two-thirds mark of this one-year wear project with my BENZAK B-02 REGULAR STRAIGHT in our 14 oz. green cast selvedge.
Last month I announced it was finally time for their first wash. With this update, I can share the results and honestly... they turned out even better than expected.
The overall tone has brightened up nicely, while a lot more of the green cast character has started to reveal itself. The whiskers and honeycombs have become much more defined, adding extra depth and contrast compared to before the wash.
The fabric has also softened up significantly. Most of the initial stiffness is now gone, and because the jeans have fully shaped to my body over the past eight months, they feel more comfortable than ever.
As always, I followed our wash guide carefully, and the results speak for themselves. But we’re not done yet. There are still four more months to go, and I have a feeling this pair is only getting started.
I’ll be sharing an update every month to track how this pair transforms over time, so stay tuned for the next chapter. In the meantime, you can follow along on my personal account (@lennaertnijgh) as I continue putting this new fabric to the test.
