The BWS-06 returns in two new oxfords, crafted from a fabric with a long and storied history. Oxford cloth dates back to 19th-century Scotland, where durable shirting fabrics were developed and named after prestigious universities. Over time, it became known for combining durability, comfort and versatility, eventually becoming a staple of Ivy style.
WHERE IVY MEETS WORKWEAR
Our 6 oz. oxford fabric is woven in Japan by Collect Mills using a traditional 2x1 basket weave. Two finer warp threads interlace with one thicker weft thread, creating the subtle texture and small checkerboard pattern for which oxford cloth is known. Woven from 100% cotton, the fabric is breathable, sturdy yet comfortable, and softens beautifully with wear.
What makes this release especially interesting is the contrast. Oxford cloth is often associated with classic Ivy style shirting, while the BWS-06 is rooted in vintage work shirt design. Bringing these two worlds together creates something unique.
Each of the two colourways brings its own character. The navy and white option uses a blue warp and white weft, giving it an appearance that leans towards chambray, although the weave is distinctly oxford and contains no indigo. The blue and white striped version uses a lighter shade of blue in a timeless striped pattern, drawing more directly from classic shirting tradition.
Bringing together workwear design and classic oxford shirting, these are timeless shirts designed to be worn often and to age beautifully over time.
