As we’re nearing the halfway mark of the Indigo Invitational Year 5 denim fading competition, my pair of B-02 REGULAR STRAIGHT in 14 oz. green cast selvedge is showing more and more character every day.

Last weekend I spent most of my time working on a renovation project in my new house, and naturally I kept wearing my jeans the entire time (because fades). That final weekend of January didn’t just push the fading along nicely, it also got me seriously thinking about giving them their first wash.

Back at the office this week, I was enjoying a quick game of Tetris on my old Switch when Eduard snapped a few photos of me in the jeans. Seeing them in a different setting, under calmer conditions than a dusty renovation site, made me look at the wear a bit more closely. After some consideration, I’ve decided to postpone the first wash a little longer and reassess next month, but we’re definitely getting close and the first wash is on the horizon.

I’ll be sharing an update every month to track how this pair transforms over time, so stay tuned for the next chapter. In the meantime, you can follow along on my personal account (@lennaertnijgh) as I continue putting this new fabric to the test.
