Ripstop is one of the most recognisable military fabrics ever produced. Originally developed for field uniforms and equipment, its reinforced construction was designed to improve durability while keeping weight to a minimum. The characteristic crosshatch pattern is created by thicker yarns woven into the fabric at regular intervals, helping to prevent small tears from spreading.

For our BPS-03 FATIGUE SHORTS, we selected an 8 oz. ripstop fabric woven by Collect Mills in Japan. Unlike many modern ripstop fabrics that utilise synthetic fibres, this version is woven from 100% cotton. The result is a fabric that combines durability with breathability and comfort, making it particularly well suited for everyday wear during the warmer months.

Those interested in the fabric beyond the shorts will also find it in our BWS-03 MILITARY OVERSHIRT, available in navy and olive drab, as well as our tiger camo pattern.

The silhouette is based on our BP-07 LOOSE FATIGUE PANTS, carrying over the same top block and waistband construction while introducing additional room through the upper leg. The relaxed fit is complemented by classic fatigue pant details, including large front patch pockets and spacious rear flap pockets secured with tonal military-style button closures.

Like the garments that inspired it, the BPS-03 focuses on practicality. Durable construction, military-inspired detailing and a lightweight Japanese ripstop fabric come together in a pair of shorts designed for everyday use, while remaining true to the utilitarian origins of both the fabric and the silhouette.
