WHY RIPSTOP?

Ripstop fabrics are characterized for their strength, being both lightweight and tear-resistant. This is achieved through a unique construction technique, where thicker yarns are woven at regular intervals in both the warp and weft directions, creating the distinctive crosshatch pattern. Typically made from synthetic fibres, our ripstop fabric is a step above, crafted entirely from 100% cotton. This choice not only enhances the breathability of the garment but also provides a more comfortable wearing experience, ideal for year-round use.

THE VERSATILE BWS-03 MILITARY OVERSHIRT

The BWS-03 MILITARY OVERSHIRT is designed with a versatile silhouette – it can be worn as both a shirt and a jacket, adapting seamlessly to seasonal changes. This overshirt features two chest pockets with flaps, and two handwarmer pockets for additional storage, and of course, to keep your hand warm on colder days. The bottom of the shirt is straight, which is a nod to military style shirts, as opposed to a rounded bottom commonly found on work shirts. The ripstop is available in the classic colours navy and olive drab, and now with the new tiger stripe camo print as the latest addition.

TIGER STRIPE CAMO: A HISTORICAL LEGACY

The tiger stripe camouflage has an intriguing heritage. Originally developed for close-range use in jungle environments, it gained prominence in the 1960s during the Vietnam War. Although the exact origin of the tiger stripe pattern is uncertain, it’s believed to be a derivative of the earlier ‘lizard’ pattern, used by the French in the First Indochina War after WWII. This imbues our tiger camo military overshirt with a rich history, combined with a modern style for daily use.
