Fit
The BWS-03 MILITARY OVERSHIRT is a versatile shirt silhouette that can both function as shirt and jacket, depending on the season. This makes this overshirt perfect for layering. The design is simple yet utilitarian and takes inspiration from a 60s military shirt style. It features two large chest pockets with rectangular flaps and two handwarmer pockets. The cuff slits are finished with a continuous strip for durability, and the bottom is cut straight.
Fabric
The hickory stripe pattern finds its origin in workwear, or more specific overalls made for railroad workers from the early 1900s. Back then, this fabric used to be a heavyweight seersucker, but its pattern, recognized by blue (usually indigo-dyed) and white stripes, has evolved and can found in various types of fabric constructions. Our Japanese-made 12.7 oz. hickory stripe is a 3x1 twill, very similar to denim, with equally wide blue and white stripes. The garment has been washed and is showing bright blue accents, which is a sign of subtle indigo loss.
