NOTE: This item is made from unsanforized denim, but the garment has been pre-washed at the factory to remove all shrinkage. Due to this process, a natural body twist may occur. This subtle vintage characteristic is part of the product and should not be considered a defect.

Fit
BDJ-T2 TYPE II JACKET is our take on the classic Type II jacket. It has a boxy fit with a shorter length, just like its vintage inspiration. The flaps of the two chest pockets follow our signature horn shape. The BDJ-T2 also features the classic pleated front placket, which is finished with archetypal box stitching, paying further homage to its influential origins. We’ve modernised the style by adding two large inner pockets, providing some extra space to hold personal belongings.
Fabric
14 oz. forties era selvedge is a type of denim with a lot of character and interesting detailing. It has been replicated from vintage denim from 1940s, both in terms of indigo shade and construction. Denim from that period was mostly unsanforized -- and so is our version. The tricky part of unsanforized denim is that it may shrink up to 10% after the first wash. Therefore, we already pre-washed the garments in the factory and adjusted the pattern to end up with the correct measurements after this first wash. This means that you can buy your own size and don’t have to worry about the shrinkage. n its unwashed state, the fabric weighs approximately 12 oz. per square yard. However, after washing, the shrinkage causes the weight to increase to 14 oz. per square yard as the fibers contract and draw closer together. This results in more yarn being packed into the same square yard, giving the fabric a stiff feel, despite it being already washed. Our 14 oz. forties era selvedge has been woven by Collect Mills in Japan.
